Our mission is to publish great works past and present, centering authors and plunging readers into dynamic stories and nostalgic luxury.
WHO WE ARE
Sisters and best friends, we always knew we wanted to be in business together and we knew it needed to be involving art and literature. Lovers of books, bohemian luxury, ideas that shape our literary works today, we choose to bring life and color to words you can keep at your bedside and in your heart.
OUR STORY
Named after Paint Lick, Kentucky, and the subsequent river that runs through it, we lose and find ourselves in our inevitable pursuit of words that make us feel. We’ve found ourselves in bookstores all over the country, mindfully choosing which to carry in our bags and purses for any occasion. Building home libraries, shelves and stacks thus the culmination of years of preparation.
When deciding what we wanted Paint Lick Publishing to be, we researched indie publishing vs traditional and found that self-publishing authors simply weren’t being heard. We want to give authors the best opportunities to create and be compensated and let them focus on writing art. We want to collaborate with artists for delicious covers you could hang on your walls. We want to print gorgeous books.
